Gurgaon Police Probe Expands
The controversy surrounding an alleged sacrilege-related video involving Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a new turn after Gurgaon Police registered a case alleging efforts to procure a fabricated forensic report declaring the video manipulated.
Police have arrested two individuals, identified as Ankit and Arun, in connection with the investigation. Both have been named in the First Information Report (FIR) and are expected to be produced before a court.
The FIR also refers to two Punjab government officials, including officers of DIG and SP rank. No findings have yet been established by a court of law regarding the allegations.
Complaint Filed by Forensic Expert
The case was registered following a complaint by forensic expert Jaspreet Singh.
According to the FIR, Jaspreet alleged that he was approached to prepare a forensic report concerning the disputed video. He reportedly told investigators that the report was prepared under pressure and later became aware that it could be used in a broader dispute related to the authenticity of the footage.
Police said the complainant subsequently submitted a written statement supporting his allegations.

Allegations Regarding Report Preparation
According to the complaint, Jaspreet engaged two cyber specialists, identified as Ankit and Arun, during the preparation of the report.
Investigators are examining claims that multiple draft versions of the report were reviewed and modified during the process. The FIR alleges that communications occurred through digital platforms while the report was being prepared.
Police are also verifying details regarding meetings that allegedly took place in Gurugram during June, where discussions related to the report are said to have occurred.
Alleged Cash Transaction Under Investigation
The FIR further alleges that a cash payment of ₹10 lakh was made in connection with the preparation of the report.

Political Controversy Continues
The case emerges amid an ongoing political dispute over the authenticity of the video.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has maintained that independent forensic examinations found no match between Bhagwant Mann and the individual seen in the footage.
Party leaders have alleged that the video is part of a political campaign aimed at discrediting the Chief Minister. They have also stated that Mann has consistently denied being the person featured in the recording.
Investigation Ongoing
Police officials have said the investigation remains active and that all allegations are being examined in accordance with legal procedures.
Authorities are expected to record additional statements, review forensic material and determine whether further action is warranted based on the evidence collected.
