Delhi Police detained 28 students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), including the JNUSU President Nitish Kumar, during a protest march from Sabarmati Dhaba to Vasant Kunj Police Station. The students were demanding the registration of an FIR against the ABVP following a prior incident of violence during a General Body Meeting on Dussehra.
The students, affiliated with Left-wing groups, alleged that ABVP members had assaulted several students and accused police of inaction. They claimed to have faced police brutality at JNU’s West Gate while attempting a peaceful march.
