Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on Saturday issued a stern warning to Afghanistan, urging Kabul to “choose between peace and chaos.” He demanded that the Taliban regime take decisive action against terrorists operating from Afghan soil and carrying out attacks inside Pakistan.
Speaking at the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, Abbottabad, Munir emphasized that Islamabad would not tolerate any militant activities across the border. “All proxies using Afghan soil will be met with a response that will raise them to dust,” he declared.

The statement followed Pakistan’s fresh airstrikes on terrorist hideouts inside Afghanistan late Friday, just hours after both sides had agreed to extend a two-day ceasefire. The strikes reportedly targeted the Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which had claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on a military installation in North Waziristan earlier this week.
Diplomatic sources confirmed that representatives from both nations are set to meet in Doha, where Qatar is likely to mediate efforts to ease tensions.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Taliban administration of allowing terrorist groups to use Afghan territory for cross-border strikes. Kabul has consistently denied these allegations, maintaining that Afghan soil is not being used against any neighboring country.
Tensions between the two nations have intensified following a series of deadly attacks in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including one in Orakzai district that killed 11 soldiers, among them a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major.
