An 18-year-old MBBS student has accused her acquaintance and his friends of rape and blackmail over the past month in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area. According to police reports, the victim was assaulted at a hotel, where the accused allegedly recorded the act and later used the footage to blackmail her.
The accused, a 20-year-old man from Haryana’s Jind, is currently absconding. The survivor, also from Jind, was residing in a hostel in Delhi. The incident occurred on September 9 when she attended a party at a hotel and was allegedly drugged before being raped. She was subsequently coerced into sexual acts under the threat of exposure.
The survivor disclosed the incident to her family and filed a complaint on Thursday. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the accused.
Assistant Professor Arrested for Harassing MBBS Student
In a separate incident, an assistant professor at Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital was arrested for allegedly harassing a medical student within the hospital premises. According to police, the accused, Dr. Mohammed Shaqir Naeem, has been charged under sections related to sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, and assault with intent to outrage modesty.
Authorities confirmed that further investigation in both cases is ongoing.
