A domestic dispute in Northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur area turned violent on Sunday when a man allegedly opened fire on his estranged wife and teenage son, leaving both injured.
Incident Details
Police said the incident was reported around 1:43 pm from Moonga Nagar under Dayalpur police station limits. The accused, identified as Abdul, a resident of Jahangirpuri, had been estranged from his wife, who was living with her parents for the past two to three months due to ongoing marital discord.
On Sunday, Abdul visited the house where his wife was staying. An argument broke out, during which he allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot at his wife and son.
Victims’ Condition
The 40-year-old woman and her teenage son sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a local hospital by family members. Officials said the woman’s condition remains critical, while her son is stable.
Police Action
A forensic team examined the crime scene and collected evidence. Police have registered a case at Dayalpur police station under relevant sections. Investigators are probing how Abdul managed to procure the firearm used in the crime.
