Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong response to recent warnings from Indian military and political leaders, calling their statements “a failed attempt to restore a tarnished reputation.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Asif wrote:
“After such a decisive defeat with a score of 0–6, if they try again, the score, God willing, will be far better than before.”
He added that public opinion in India had turned sharply against its government after what he described as “the worst defeat in history.”
“Modi and his clique lost credibility. Pakistan is a state founded in the name of Allah. Our protectors are Allah’s soldiers. This time, India, God willing, will be buried in the debris of its own planes. Allahu Akbar,” Asif declared.
Indian Military Leadership Responds
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, cautioning it to stop “state-sponsored terrorism” or risk being “erased from the map.”
He emphasized that India would not show the same restraint as it did during Operation Sindoor 1.0 if provoked again.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s Statement
A day earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that any provocative actions in the Sir Creek region would result in a powerful response capable of “reshaping both history and geography.”
From the Pahalgam Attack to Operation Sindoor
The tensions stem from the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed 26 lives.
In response, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The overnight air and ground strikes destroyed key infrastructure used by Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, with reports suggesting that over 100 militants were killed during the operation.
