Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects in the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, predicting a decisive mandate in favour of the ruling coalition.
NDA Set for Big Win
Rajnath Singh said public response across Bihar clearly indicates a landslide victory.
“Seeing the enthusiasm of voters in our rallies, I can confidently say that the NDA government will be formed for sure — and we may even secure a two-thirds majority, that is, more than 160 seats,” he stated.

Prashant Kishor Factor ‘Insignificant’
Addressing speculation over political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s influence, Singh dismissed his role as politically irrelevant.
“I believe that factor is insignificant — not even worth considering. People of Bihar are politically conscious. They know who is genuinely contesting to form the government and who is merely in the fray to cut votes,” he said.
He added that in his view, “Prashant Kishor may not win even a single seat.”
Nitish Kumar Will Continue as Chief Minister
Clarifying the leadership question within the NDA, Singh reaffirmed that Nitish Kumar remains the coalition’s chief ministerial face.
“The election is being fought under his leadership, so naturally, he will continue as the Chief Minister,” he said.
On speculation about deputy chief ministers from the BJP and Chirag Paswan’s party, Singh remarked that such decisions would be made “by consensus after the elections.”

On Law and Order Allegations
Responding to allegations against alliance leader Anant Singh following a recent firing incident, the Defence Minister urged restraint in generalising isolated events.
“It’s possible that stray incidents happen sometimes. But because of that, you can’t label someone as a mafia. The NDA ensures that candidates with clean images are given tickets,” Singh said.]
