A Delhi court on Tuesday granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) 10-day custodial remand of Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, described as an “active co-conspirator” in the Red Fort car blast case that killed 15 people.
The order was passed by Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna, who allowed the NIA’s plea for detailed interrogation.
NIA: Accused Was Planning Drone-Based Attacks
According to exclusive information from NIA’s submissions, the agency told the court that Wani played a crucial role in the larger conspiracy behind the blast.
He is alleged to be a drone modification expert contacted to design precision rockets, indicating that the group was planning future drone-based terror attacks.
The NIA said the Red Fort blast was intended to spread terror, destabilise national unity, and intimidate citizens.
“The blast was executed with such precision that it instilled fear across the country,” the agency submitted.
