Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a prime accused in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, will arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday after being expelled from the United States.
Upon his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, he will be formally taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Wanted for Major Organised Crime and Extortion Cases
Bishnoi is under investigation for his alleged involvement in a series of organised crime activities, including extortion rackets, cross-border operations, and targeted killings.
He is known to have coordinated shooters, financed modules, issued threats from abroad, and managed operations through encrypted channels. All FIRs registered against him are currently being probed by the NIA.

Background: Baba Siddique Assassination Case
Former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12, 2024, outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra. Multiple associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were arrested following the killing.
Anmol is also wanted in the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in April 2024.
How Trump-Era Immigration Rules Accelerated the Deportation
According to senior intelligence officials, Bishnoi’s expulsion is a direct consequence of revised immigration rules implemented under US President Donald Trump.
Under the new policy:
- Illegal immigrants are detained immediately after their first asylum or immigration petition is rejected.
- The earlier provision—under which individuals could file fresh petitions and remain free—has been scrapped.
- Detention is now mandatory, preventing absconding and eliminating prolonged supervision periods.

Due to these changes, US immigration courts have fast-tracked deportation cases, reducing processing time from nearly 10 years to approximately 18 months.
Anmol Bishnoi, detained for nearly 1.5 years, saw his case expedited under this system. Officials clarified that the policy applies uniformly to all illegal immigrants.
