Hardik Pandya Creates History in Dubai
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya etched his name in the record books during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 21.
In his three-over spell, Pandya conceded 29 runs but delivered the crucial breakthrough by dismissing opener Fakhar Zaman. The wicket took Pandya’s tally to 38 wickets in T20 multi-team events (Asia Cup and T20 World Cups), equalling the record previously held solely by Ravichandran Ashwin.
Ashwin reached the landmark in 30 innings, while Pandya matched it in 33.

India’s Record Chase Against Pakistan
India capped the night with a six-wicket win over Pakistan, successfully chasing 172 – their highest successful chase against Pakistan in T20Is.
Opening pair Abhishek Sharma (74 off 39 balls) and Shubman Gill (47 off 28 balls) stitched together a blistering 105-run stand, setting the platform for the victory. Sharma’s knock included six fours and five sixes, while Gill provided fluent support.
India sealed the chase with 7 balls to spare, maintaining their unbeaten run in the tournament.
Pakistan’s Innings in Brief
Batting first, Pakistan posted 171/5 in 20 overs after being put in to bat.

- Faheem Ashraf provided late fireworks, scoring 20* off just 8 balls.
However, their total proved insufficient against India’s commanding batting display.
